Pictures taken by Arlen Good Photography. To purchase, go to www.arlengoodphotography.com Action Pistol either uses the a modified IPSC scoring or Vickers scoring. IPSC scoring divides the points you get for a stage by the time for that stage, with the high score winning. "A" zone hits are 5 points, "C" zone hits 4 points, and "D" zone hits 2 points. Some stages are scored "Virginia Count", which means you can only shoot a specified number of rounds. If a stage is designated as "Comstock", you can shoot as many rounds as you need to. Vickers scoring consists of the time to shoot the stage plus any penalty points, with the low score winning. The penalty points are .5 seconds for each point down on the target, 3 seconds for each procedural, 5 seconds for hitting a no shoot target, 5 seconds for failure to neutralize a target (you need to score at least 4 points on a target to neutralize it), and 20 seconds for failure to do right. The points down on the target are calculated as follows: 1 point down for each "B" and "C" zone hit, 3 points down for each "D" zone hit, and 5 points down for each miss. A stage can be designed as "Vickers" which means you may shoot as many shots as you need to, or "Limited Vickers" which means you may only shoot a designed number of rounds. Any safe handgun can be used with some restrictions. No optical sights or scopes are allowed. Semi-automatic pistols are divided into two divisions: Limited 10 and High Capacity. The Limited 10 division allows only 10 rounds per magazine. You can use magazines that hold more than 10 rounds in this division: you just load 10 rounds. The High Capacity division has no limit on the number of rounds in the magazine. The revolver division allows any revolver, but only 6 rounds can be fired before reloading. Any safe equipment that covers the trigger guard can be used. The belt must be at waist level. Hip mounted tactical holsters may be used, provided all tie down straps are fastened. Concealed carry equipment may be used but it is not required. Click here to find out MORE about Action Handgun
