NRA First Steps Pistol Orientation

Topics. The First Steps Pistol course is designed for the new shooter. It provides hands on introduction to the safe handling and proper operation of a handgun.

• Introduction to pistol safety, parts and operation.
• Introduction to ammunition and fundamentals of pistol shooting
• Introduction to pistol shooting on the range
• Introduction to pistol cleaning and storage
• Selecting a handgun for self-defense

It is not necessary to own a firearm to take the course. However, if you own a firearm, you are encouraged to bring it to the class. In that case, the course will show you how to properly operate your own firearm.

Who should attend. The course is designed for people new to handguns. It is designed to teach you about handguns in general, and your own handgun, if you have one. It can prepare you to purchase a firearm or to use your own firearm safely.

Dates and times: 6 August 2005 (Saturday), 9 am to 3 pm.
Course Cost: $45 (The cost includes all ammunition and course materials)

You will be sent a confirmation of your acceptance into the course, a map to the range and further course information upon receipt of your application and course fee.   After the due date, you will only receive a refund if someone else takes your slot in the course.
