The eastern 600 yard
range is open to general use and is unsupervised except during matches.
-
To use the 600 yard
range, you must raise the red flag at the intersection of the range roads
immediately west of the covered firing line at the 600 yard range before
firing OR before going downrange to place your target.
-
If you get to the
range and the flag is raised, assume someone IS down range and verify it is
clear before assuming someone forgot and left the flag up when they left the
range.
-
If you get to the
range and the flag is not raised, assume someone IS down range and has
forgotten to raise it. Verify it is clear before assuming no one is
downrange.
-
When you get to the
600 yard range, always assume someone has made a mistake in using the
flag. Go down range before you commence firing and verify no one is in
the 'Butts' or target area before opening fire. Never assume the range
is safe to fire on until you check it out.
